(Macon, IL) For the last eight years, Osman Racing has campaigned in the United Midwestern Promoters Stock Car/Street Stock division across tracks all over the state of Illinois. All of our fellow competitors and fans have become accustomed to the number 25 being adorned on the sides of our car. In 2016, that is going to change. For the 2016 racing season, Osman Racing will be running the number 28.

After losing our car owner, John Osman, we (as a family) began to look back at many things that seemed eerie about certain situations, one of which was the abundance of the number 28. John's accident happened on the 25th of May and he passed away three days later, on the 28th. The number of the two Stock Cars driven by our current driver, Greg Osman, were 25 and 3. When we purchased our first Stock Car, it was number 28. Current team owner Diane Osman's (John's wife) birthday is on December 28th and our crew chief's birthday (John Thomson) is on October 28th. Greg Osman (our driver) graduated from High School on May 28th, John's exact date of death. The year we ran a hornet instead of a Stock Car (2010), the car was number 28 because that was Greg's number on the baseball team at Eureka College. Greg just celebrated his 28th birthday as well.

The number is too prevalent for us to ignore. So in 2016, be on the lookout for the number 28 Osman Racing Stock Car at a track near you!
