First night results in first top five
(Macon, IL) Osman Racing finally made it's 2009 debut this past Sunday at Shepp's Speedway in Alexander, IL. In the first action of the night, the heat race, the Osman Racing Chevrolet Malibu would start from the third position. The track was not in the best shape and the car was not handling well at all. After fighting the car for the entire race, they ended up with a fifth place finish, earning a tenth place starting spot in the feature. Come feature time, the track had smoothed out quite a bit and was in near perfect condition. With it being the first trip to the newly built track, they had to search around a bit for a fast racing line, finding it on the low side about half-way through the fifteen lap race. They ran in the top-ten for the entire race until two laps to go, when there was a four car pileup, all of which were running in the top ten as well. After the linup was reset, Osman Racing found themselves in fifth place with a one-lap shootout coming up. The green and white flags came out and they were able to protect their top-five spot and finished with a very respectable fifth place finish in the first night out in 2009.
For the upcoming weekend Osman Racing will be making trips to two tracks they visited last year. Friday night, they will be making the trek to Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL and on Saturday they make the 2009 debut at their home track, Macon Speedway in Macon, IL.
