2011 Starts Off On A High Note
(Washington, IL) Osman Racing made it's return to the Street Stock ranks this past weekend at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, IL, a track that they have never attended with a stock car. The last visit to Peoria was with a 360 Sprint Car that they finished second with.
The heat race would prove to be quite a roller coaster. After drawing a 3rd place starting spot, the first two starts were waved off due to the pole sitter jumping the start, putting the Osman Racing Malibu on the outside of the front row. A good jump would put them into the lead but not for very long. Coming out of turn two, the car got loose and was hit in the left front by another car. The impact sent (Greg) Osman into the wall. The impact broke a tie rod on the driver's side, putting the machine out of contention for the heat race.
After the DNF in the heat race, Osman Racing would start the feature in the 8th position. A fairly uneventful race as the track was very one-grooved and there was not a lot of passing. They would end up finishing the race in a respectable 7th place, earning a top-ten in the first night for the second consecutive year with the Street Stock.
